wallowa lake Oregon

Camping around here is always a treasure-we were told that we couldn't use the tent trailer in our particular site (we had reserved the site long before we got our trailer) so we had to tent it again Alas. (Only to find out that we could have brought it after all-grr) We didn't mind tenting it except the fact that the 2 air beds we had died and were UN repairable, off to the trash they went. We had nice weather and then on our last night we had bad weather-so bad with the rain that it sounded like we were under a waterfall-the thunder and lighting were nice and even the hail that we received but when getting out of the tent and being in a lake of water up to your ankles I wondered if we should have slept in a boat instead of a tent. I have never camped with so much water surrounding the tent and everything else in sight. The kids slept right through it-amazingly I don't know how they did it. One of the funny things about the first few days is all the cotton that was floating around. One morning we couldn't even find the flip flops because there were so much cotton on top of it. It really looked like a snow blizzard half the time.

Cody and the girls used their imagination-building a snowman and having a snow (cotton)fight. It was everywhere-in your hair, up your nose and often in your mouth.

The girls were each told they could bring a friend with them. Saige's friend cancelled the 1/2 hour before we left down-leaving her so sad but Ambria's friend Morgan came and said "she was up for the challenge." It turned out to be a wonderful experience and we loved having her a long-she is a good natured kid full of lots of love for our family. She knows how to tease with the best of us.

Kelsey and Rylan had a hard time waking up on the first day-Camping can be a little rough.

We didn't really bring anything to entertain the kids-however we did bring a Frisbee. Saige found a new love for the art of Frisbee and her and Mark played for hours.

It was crazy how many dear walk around the campground like it is no big deal. You are told not to touch the dear because of Lyme diseases and also a big fine. Needless to say we stuck to the rules but everyone at the camp ground petted them like they were their dogs. Oh well-we still made the kids treat them like wild animals.

Morgan and Ambria got in the lake even though there was slimers and it was cold-they didn't stay in too long though.

Oregon was celebrating some 150 year anniversary so the state park had a lot of fun activities for the kids. This was a little train ride that the Saige, Kaedra and Rylan went on-2x. Rylan thought it was the next best thing to candy.

Wallowa Lake is very beautiful-you can spend all day looking at the snow cap mountains and the beauty of Nature. We will come here again for sure-maybe our next family reunion.

This is my silly husband taking his ham radio in many areas to see if he can connect with different stations-He is FUN-I think he might need more hands though.

One night the kids entertained us with some dances-Rylan loves to play with Justin and force him to do dancing, singing and playing her baby. I think Justin is a great sport about it and it is fun to watch.

Mark treated everyone to a game of miniature golf at the local 18 holes. The kids had a blast and loved it when they won free games. It took lots of time and they thought they were all the best. I was terrible and could barely get it in less than 6 putts-long drives are more my game.

Here is our family on the chair we are buying for our front lawn-Wouldn't that be cool?
