Joy of neighbors
Because of where we live, our children really don't have that many kids to play with in the neighborhood. I don't think you really can call gas station attendants next door, nor tenants children coming into the office-kids to play with. We do have a set of neighbors back behind the gas station that are Hispanic and have kids, woo hoo. Their older kids go to school with some of my kids and they know English and Spanish. When Ambria was little she would play with Brenda. Now that Rylan has found that Daniellea lives there, everyday after school Rylan will run in, come use the bathroom, get a snack and then ZOOM she is on her way to the fence to meet up with Daniellea and her baby sister. They will play from 3:30-6:30 or until it is getting dark and we are worried. The girls really use their imagination's too, playing in bushes, forts etc. We will let Rylan go over and play in their yard but she may not go in their house and they will only let their kids come to the fence and play around the yard. Being that their is a language barrier it really makes it hard but I am so grateful that Rylan loves to play and intermix with anyone. Hopefully some lifetime I will know enough Spanish to mingle with their parents. If only to be kids and play with whomever, whenever.
